Yes. Advance booking is strongly recommended because passenger spaces are limited. A booking is only confirmed once 100% payment has been received and written booking confirmation has been issued by Atacama Desert Balloons. Until then, no passenger space is guaranteed.
We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during peak seasons, holidays and private charter periods. Flights have limited capacity.
No. We do not accept deposits or hold reservations. All bookings require 100% payment in advance.
Depending on the package booked, your experience may include: pick-up from the designated meeting point or approved accommodation, transfer to the launch site, check-in, safety briefing, balloon inflation viewing, hot air balloon flight, landing and recovery, post-flight refreshments or champagne (where included), chef prepared desert breakfast (where included), and return transfer.
Only where stated in your booking confirmation. Otherwise, passengers must attend the designated meeting point on time.

The complete experience normally lasts around 3–4 hours, with a typical flight time of 45–75 minutes depending on weather.
Typically between 500 and 2,000 feet above ground level, although altitude varies according to conditions.
The pilot controls altitude, not direction. The balloon travels with the wind, making every flight unique.
Flights may be delayed or cancelled for safety. You'll be offered an alternative date or a refund in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
Commercial ballooning has an excellent safety record when operated by licensed pilots using certified equipment and appropriate procedures.
Wear suitable outdoor clothing for the expected weather conditions. Early mornings in the Atacama can be cold, so warm clothing or a coat is recommended. Closed-toe footwear is mandatory.
Yes. Please ensure all personal items are securely held during take-off and landing.
No, unless prior written permission has been granted and all aviation regulations have been met.

The landing location depends entirely on the wind and cannot be guaranteed.
Most landings are gentle, although firmer landings can occur depending on wind conditions. A full landing briefing is provided before take-off.
Late arrivals may be refused carriage without refund because flights operate to strict schedules.
Accurate weight information is essential for aircraft weight and balance calculations and overall flight safety.
The Atacama offers exceptional scenery and wildlife opportunities, but sightings cannot be guaranteed.
