Respecting The Landscape We Operate In

Operating responsibly within one of the world’s most unique and environmentally sensitive desert environments.

Sustainability & Community

The Atacama Desert is not simply where we operate.

It is the heart of the experience itself.

Every flight is planned with deep respect for the landscape, its fragile ecosystems, its communities and the cultural significance of the region.

Our goal is simple:
to leave no trace, operate responsibly and contribute positively to the environment and people that make this place so extraordinary.

Working In Harmony With The Environment

Hot-air ballooning is naturally one of the lowest-impact forms of aviation, relying on wind currents rather than heavy infrastructure or fixed routes.

While ballooning is guided by natural wind patterns, every flight is supported by careful planning and experienced ground coordination to identify appropriate landing areas.

Locations are selected with consideration for surrounding terrain, agriculture, natural habitats and culturally significant areas to ensure operations are conducted respectfully and responsibly.

Each landing is carried out with precision and care, with all areas left clean, undisturbed and exactly as they are found.

Local Knowledge & Collaboration

The Atacama is home to communities with a deep-rooted connection to the land.

We work alongside local Atacameño communities to ensure operational practices, access routes and flight activity are approached with cultural awareness and respect.

This local knowledge helps guide how and where we operate while strengthening our connection to the region itself.

Supporting Local Employment

We are committed to creating meaningful local employment opportunities as part of the operation.

Ground crews are recruited locally and trained to aviation standards in safety, logistics and operational support, helping provide long-term skills development and stable employment within the region.

Wherever possible, we prioritise local suppliers, services and partnerships so that the economic benefit of the experience remains connected to the surrounding community.

Ongoing Community Engagement

Beyond daily operations, we aim to support local environmental and community-led initiatives connected to sustainable tourism and preservation of the region’s natural heritage.

Our intention is not simply to operate within the Atacama, but to become a respectful and positive long-term part of it.
